QR Scanner

Last updated: 4/16/2026

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use QR Scanner (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Please read this Policy carefully. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, you should not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect information in several ways: directly from you when you provide it, automatically when you use the App, and from third parties where applicable. The types of information we may collect include the following.

1.1 Information You Provide

When you use the App, you may provide information such as your name, email address, account credentials, or other contact or profile information if you create an account or contact support. You may also provide or generate content (for example, data you scan, save, or share). We use this information to provide the App's features, respond to your requests, and communicate with you.

When you use the QR Scanner app, the contents of QR codes or barcodes you scan are processed on your device. We do not automatically upload or store the contents of every scan on our servers. We may only receive scan-related data if you explicitly choose to save, share, or sync content, or if such data is necessary to provide a specific feature (e.g., opening a URL or saving a contact). In those cases, we handle such data in accordance with this Policy.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you access or use the App, we may automatically collect certain information, including: device type and model; operating system and version; unique device identifiers; mobile network information; app version and language settings; and information about how you use the App (e.g., features used, frequency of use, and general usage patterns). We may collect this information through our own systems or through third-party analytics and crash-reporting services to operate, improve, and secure the App.

1.3 Location Information

The App may collect location information only if you grant permission and only to the extent necessary to provide location-based features. You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings. We do not track your precise location on a continuous basis unless a feature explicitly requires it and you have consented.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features; process your requests and transactions; personalize your experience; communicate with you about the App, updates, or support; monitor and analyze usage and trends; detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues; and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal process.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We may use aggregated or de-identified data for analytics, research, or product improvement; such data cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

We may use your information to send you push notifications or in-app messages if you have opted in. You can manage notification preferences in your device or app settings.

3. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following circumstances: (a) with service providers who assist us in operating the App (e.g., hosting, analytics, customer support), subject to contractual obligations to protect your data; (b) when required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, or that of our users or the public; (c) in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, in which case your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; (d) with your consent or at your direction (e.g., when you choose to share content through the App).

We do not share your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes unless you have given us explicit consent to do so.

4. Data Storage and Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures may include encryption, access controls, secure development practices, and regular security assessments. Data may be stored on your device and, when necessary to provide the service, on our or our service providers' servers, which may be located in different countries.

Despite our efforts, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account credentials. If you believe your account or data has been compromised, please contact us promptly.

We retain your information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When we no longer need your information, we will securely delete or anonymize it.

5. Third-Party Services

The App may use or integrate with third-party services, such as analytics providers, crash-reporting tools, advertising networks (if applicable), and other services that help us operate and improve the App. These third parties may collect or receive information about your use of the App in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you encounter through the App.

If the App contains links to third-party websites or services, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites or services. Your use of such third-party sites or services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. These may include: the right to access the personal information we hold about you; the right to correct or update inaccurate information; the right to request deletion of your information; the right to request a copy of your data in a portable format (data portability); the right to object to or restrict certain processing; the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the contact details provided at the end of this Policy. We will respond to your request in accordance with applicable law. You may also have choices within the App or your device settings (e.g., limiting ad tracking, revoking permissions, or opting out of certain communications).

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, our legal basis for processing your information may include: your consent; performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interests (e.g., improving the App, security); or compliance with legal obligations.

7. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. When we transfer your information internationally, we take steps to ensure that your information receives an adequate level of protection in accordance with applicable law, including through standard contractual clauses or other mechanisms approved by relevant authorities.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us, and we will take steps to delete such information from our systems.

9. California and Other U.S. State Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident or a resident of another U.S. state with similar privacy laws, you may have additional rights, such as: the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; the right to request deletion of your personal information; the right to correct inaccuracies; the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information (we do not sell personal information as defined under applicable law); and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. To exercise these rights, please contact us. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf in accordance with applicable law.

10. Do Not Track and Similar Signals

Some browsers or devices offer a "Do Not Track" or similar setting. There is no universally accepted standard for how such signals should be interpreted. Currently, we do not respond to Do Not Track signals in a particular way; we continue to apply the practices described in this Policy.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the App, or legal or regulatory requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated Policy in the App or on our website, updating the "Last updated" date, and, where required or appropriate, by additional means such as email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the revised Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy. If you do not agree to the revised Policy, you should stop using the App. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.

12. Contact

For any questions, comments, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, or to exercise your privacy rights, please contact us through the support channel provided in the App, on our website, or at the contact address listed in the app store listing for the App. We will endeavor to respond to your inquiry within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
